( finally starts a thread five million years later omg
I said this on dA but again, I'm really sorry for the wait! ;; )
With but a moment's hesitation, Riasin crossed into the depths of Embrum Woods. She would have liked to say she was used to venturing into the deeper parts of the twisted forest, but to say so would be a lie. She had been working with the Reapers for some time now, but it still unnerved her; the dark, towering trees whose shadows were abnormally dark, combined with the constant threat of some thing attacking her out of nowhere did nothing to help ease her nerves. Deep down she knew she could easily defend herself with her ability to control blood, but the thought of doing so repulsed her. She would have to rely on intuition and the mimicked skill of the Reapers alone.
She took a deep breath and shook her head to compose herself, dark red curls bouncing. She came across a small clearing after a few minutes of walking. A thin stream lazily bubbled through its center, and clumps of small cyan toadstools were littered about the grass, which appeared to have a purplish tint. Oddly, the mushrooms seemed to emit a faint glow. Fluorescent green fireflies hovered idly in the air.
The forest was being warped by strange magic, all right. She couldn't help but find it beautiful, despite the dangers lurking from all sides. She decided to remain in the clearing for a while to appreciate its alien beauty; she wasn't in any rush to find her target, and if someone or something decided to attack her, she would be ready.
