The weather was, without a doubt, absolutely lovely - it was just too bad that Anzu couldn't really appreciate it.
The Embrum Woods wasn't really too bad of a location, so long as you kept out of the deeper parts of it, but the edges that brushed up against Sanguine Valley were really quite enjoyable. Lush, green grass under your feet, a cool breeze in the air that certainly heralded the arrival of fall, and the sunlight glittering through the trees made it a beautiful day, but the young girl that stalked under the canopy was uninterested in the weather. She had heard rumors of a strange individual, followed by a small troupe of girls, that had been seen around the outlier villages of Sanguine Valley, always headed towards the woods in every report she'd gotten. It did help that she was a Ranger; people were a little more likely to talk to you once you flashed your title, and most of the inhabitants she'd spoken to were willing enough to hand over information. It was only incredibly frustrating that the info she'd gotten was so vague - a stranger heading into the Embrum Woods was hardly uncommon in these parts, and they were never specific about when they'd been seen or where exactly in the woods they were headed.
Making a frustrated noise under her breath, Anzu leaped neatly over a fallen log and landed lightly on the other side, pausing a moment under a beam of sunlight. She had several options from here on out, but she took her time standing there, mulling over her choices. Go west, remaining in the edges of the woods? Or head immediately south and plunge straight into the Deep Embrum Woods and chance running into something nastier than what she'd expected? Perhaps even go east, towards the Cailix Swamp, or even head north into the mountains?
